Rabbi and NFL Players Cheer Up Hospitalized Children
This past week, a mother had to have her young daughter admitted to the Phoenix, Arizona Children’s Hospital at 3:00 in the morning. Without waiting a moment, she asked local Shliach Rabbi Berel Zaklikofsky to come by for a visit and bring some smiles to her ill daughter.
Just a few minutes after the Rabbi arrived, two players on the Arizona Cardinals football team – Mike Gibson and Lorenzo Alexander – were in the room together cheering the family up and bringing smiles to them and to some other Children at the Hospital.
While they were making their rounds, they asked the Rabbi about the significance of the Yarmulke and Tzizis, and expressed how fortunate they were to make the time to be with these children and uplift them. One of them said: “We do this to be able to give back to the community and we feel that this is what G-d wants us to do.” They were delighted to hear the work of Chabad and appreciated the quality time spent together.
