UK Campus Shluchim Participate in Fundraising Seminar
Engaging, educating and inspiring college students is vital for the future of the Jewish people. Sincere effort coupled with careful direction is critical to successfully navigate their world. Each campus Shliach and Shlucha have their own unique set of circumstances, yet they are not alone. There are 177 Chabad centers on college campuses throughout the world, and through sharing their collective experience, successes and even challenges of their colleagues, there is a tremendous amount of real hands-on knowledge and guidance to be gained.
This is why the Chabad on Campus Strategic Initiative Coaching Program, a revolutionary peer-to-peer coaching program, was created.
Just this week Shluchim from university campuses around the United Kingdom gathered for a two-day fundraising seminar as part of this highly successful program. The seminar took place at Chabad Lubavitch of Bloomsbury in Central London directed by Rabbi Yisroel and Devora Lew.
Established by Rabbi Yossy Gordon, Executive Vice President of Chabad on Campus International, and directed by Rabbi Avi Weinstein, Director of Administration, the Strategic Initiative pairs campus Shluchim with fellow campus Shluchim, who serve as their coaches.
Under the guidance of professional sales trainer Mark Wilensky, the Shluchim follow an intense goal-oriented program aimed at increasing fundraising and productivity built upon the Rebbe’s advice and directives for successful shlichus.
“Kaneh lecha chaver,” as we are taught in Pirkei Avos “Acquire for yourself a friend”, is the idea that the input, advice and support of a colleague is essential for success. And a fellow Shliach, one who has faced the same situations, challenges and knows the territory is most equipped to guide another.
