Photos: Lag B’omer Up North
Hundreds of Jews in the city of Edmonton, Canada celebrated an exciting Lag B’Omer on Sunday afternoon by joining the amazing program put on by Chabad of Edmonton in conjunction with the Beth Israel Synagogue.
Jews of every stripe and walk of life enjoyed the afternoon, from putting on Tefilin to chowing down frankfurters, burgers, and watermelon at the barbeque. To keep the younger crowd happy, there was an adventure bus, archery, a petting zoo, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows!!
A spectacular job was done by Laibel Pinson, a bochur from Pasadena, California, who flew to Edmonton to help arrange and coordinate the program.
In a heartwarming show of achdus, there were dozens of volunteers from both the Chabad community and members of the Beth Israel Synagogue. Despite the chilly Canadian weather, the Edmonton Jews displayed warm Jewish hearts and souls!
