Brazil Lights the Menorah with their Mayor!

SAO PAULO, Brazil [CHI] — This Sunday hundreds gathered for the annual Chanukah Menorah lighting at the Praca dos Arcos square in S. Paulo, Brazil.

The mayor, Mr. Gilberto Kassab, lit the flames of the 21-ft Menorah, accompanied by Rabbi Daniel Eskinazi of the Beit Chabad Central.

Rabbi Hersh Leib Begun, head of the Lubavitch Schools gave the mayor a plaque, and Rabbi Shamai Ende and Councilman Mr. Floriano Pesaro spoke about Chanukah.

Music was played by singer Beto Barzilay and the band of the Brazilian Army.

The MC was Dr. Ernesto Kogan, a respected doctor from Anash.
