S. BRUNSWICK, NJ [CHI] – A new torah was welcomed this past Sunday to the Chabad Jewish Center of South Bruswick. The torah was dedicated in memory of Reb Yisroel Halevi Duchman, and in honor of his wife Rebbetzin Rochel Duchman, by the Duchman Family.

Chabad of South Brunswick Welcomes New Torah

S. BRUNSWICK, NJ [CHI] – A new torah was welcomed this past Sunday to the Chabad Jewish Center of South Bruswick. The torah was dedicated in memory of Reb Yisroel Halevi Duchman, and in honor of his wife Rebbetzin Rochel Duchman, by the Duchman Family.

The writing of the torah began last year on the Yohrtziet of Reb Yisroel and was completed on his 20th Yohrtziet. The cermoney began with the recital of the Rebbes Kapitel by R. Zalman Goldstein, the reading of the Rebbes letter about a Hachnosass Sefer Torah by Shliach to Tuscon, AZ Rabbi Yossi Shemtov, followed by Hagbeh by Rabbi Sholom Duchman, and Gelilah by brothers Yossi and Boruch Duchman.

Also in attendance was Assemblywoman Linda R. Greenstein (D-NJ) bearing the blessing of the state.

Chabad Jewish Center of South Brunswick, under the directorship of Rabbi Levi and Goldie Azimov, serves the Brunswick communities.
