LOS ANGELES, CA — This February, the picturesque campus of Chabad at Running Springs will welcome hundreds of Chabad representatives and Jewish community leaders from across California and Nevada as they join together for the 2008 West Coast Chabad convention.

Being held for the first time at Kiryas Scheerson, Chabad’s mountaintop retreat, the annual event will take place on February 17 and 18 and best-selling author Michael E. Gerber will be the keynote speaker for the event.

Chabad’s convention, or Kinus, is the largest annual gathering of West Coast Jewish leaders, drawing representatives from every major Jewish community in the region. The Kinus brings Chabad emissaries together to attend workshops, hear speakers, and share ideas on serving their local communities.

“This is one of the most inspiring events of the year for Chabad,” said Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, head of West Coast Chabad-Lubavitch. “It’s a gathering of people who dedicate themselves every day to helping those in need. And with the beautiful backdrop of the S. Bernardino Mountain range, this Kinus will truly be one to remember”.

Michael E. Gerber is the bestselling author of the “E-Myth” series of books and founder of E-Myth Worldwide, an organization aimed at the small business and entrepreneurial community. The E-Myth Point of View embodies the commitment to personal growth and the realization that a business owner’s purpose in life can be actualized through their business. Gerber’s efforts, his message–his very life’s work has been to empower people to gain more freedom, more money, more time, and more life.

The Kinus at The Panikoff Center of Love and Kindness will host a variety of speakers and workshops that will enlighten all those in attendance. Interactive sessions will give participants first-hand experience in dealing with issues of the day, building and expanding Chabad community centers, and ways to effectively spread the word about local Chabad programming.
