In accordance with the Rebbe’s directive on Lag B’omer 5710-1950, there will be multiple round-trips on Lag B’omer from 770 to the Ohel, on an air conditioned coach bus for the Crown Heights community.
The Rebbe spoke at a farbrengen of Lag B’omer 5710-1950:
(שיחת ליל ל”ג בעומר, ה’שי”ת).
FREE TRANSLATION from Proceeding Together – Vol. 1:
In the course of the prayers that are recited when visiting the Ohel (as published in Maaneh Lashon) we say: “In the merit of the tannaim and amoraim… of lofty stature and in the merit of the tzaddikim who are buried in this place….” This implies that at the resting place of a tzaddik, other tzaddikim, tannaim and amoraim, are also present – including especially (with regard to Lag B’omer) R. Shimon bar Yochai.
Accordingly, I would suggest that tomorrow, which is Lag B’omer, the festive anniversary of the passing of Rashbi – the day of his greatest rejoicing, as on a wedding day (by contrast to the anniversary of Moshe Rabbeinu which some people observe by fasting) – the whole community should go out to visit the Ohel, where Rashbi, too, is present.
Accordingly, there will be multiple round-trips on Lag B’omer from 770 going to the Ohel, on an air conditioned coach bus for the CH community.
