PSA: Menorah Parade to Take Place on the 6th Night

The organizers of the Annual NYC Chanukah Menorah Parade, run by the Mitzvah Tank Org., have announced that the this years parade will take place on Thursday night the 6th night of Chanukah – December 13th, 5:00pm.

Important changes will be implemented to ensure that the parade will run as smoothly and as effectively as possible, also passing by the World’s largest Menorah at 5th and 59th in Manhattan as it is being lit.

Drivers may remember waiting long moments in their car while a police officer slowly punched their information into his system. This caused much backup and delay to the parade, as the NYPD needs to register the license and registration of every car participating of the parade.

This year however, the process has been greatly simplified by a new online registration system. This allows drivers to scan in their license and registration online in the days before the parade. The info will be forwarded to the NYPD allowing the parade on Thursday to proceed as soon as the cars are ready without causing unnecessary delay and havoc.

The Mitzvah Tank Org. has also decided to use the online system to further enhance the Parade experience, providing an option to purchase Mitzvoim supplies such as Menorah kits, Mivtzoim guides and Chanukah flags for your car. The supplies will be delivered to your car, along with a suggested Mivtzoim location as you are lined up along President street before the parade. When the parade is over, get out of your car with your family and light up the streets of New York with Yiddishkeit and the Chanukah spirit, heeding the Rebbe’s call to ensure that there is a menorah lit in each and every Jewish home.

For the first time we are giving you a opportunity to become a partner in the the worlds largest Menorah parade, by getting your car sponsored by friends and family, you will be giving the Rebbe a tremendous amount of Nachas, and also you will receiving a spot in the front of the parade

Please note that there will be a police barricade at the entrance of the parade, and only cars registered will partake in the parade. Sadly, do to police regulations, cars not registered will NOT be able to join. So register today to reserve your spot at the Parade.

CLICK HERE to register. (Registration closes: Wednesday, Dec. 12th 9:00pm)

May we once again receive Chanukah gelt from the Rebbe’s hand, like in years past when the Rebbe gave Chanukah gelt to all those that went out on Mivtza Chanukah!
