Three Joyful Purim Programs Unite the Oholei Torah Community

Purim at Oholei Torah was filled with warmth, joy, and meaningful gatherings, bringing together talmidim and families for several uplifting programs throughout the Yom Tov.

On Purim night, more than 300 men, women, and children packed the Heichal Shmuel for a beautiful and lively program run by Oholei Torah Shabbos Minyan under the leadership of Rabbi Mendel Levin. The evening included Megillah reading along with refreshments, crafts for the children, music, and a festive break-fast and l’chaim.

Purim day continued with a well organized program featuring three simultaneous minyanim, each with its own chazan and baal koreh, allowing everyone to comfortably participate in davening and hear the Megillah. Classes were given assigned tables where talmidim gathered together and brought their mishloach manos for their meetups, creating a structured and meaningful environment for the boys to celebrate with their friends and Rebbeim. Two dedicated women’s sections were arranged to accommodate the many mothers who joined the program as well.

The program also included mishloach manos for all who attended, along with three organizations present on site to receive Matanos La’evyonim. This allowed adults and children alike to fulfill three of the four mitzvos of Purim in one place.

The celebration continued on Shushan Purim with the annual Oholei Torah Mechina carnival, under the leadership of Rabbi Yossi Bryski, a beloved tradition now running for over twenty years. The carnival is an opportunity for the older talmidim to give back to the community, and parents shared how the Talmidim went out of their way to make sure every child who came had a wonderful time.

The event featured more than twenty five booths and games, including target throwing games and Mishnayos Baal Peh challenges. Participants earned tickets that could be redeemed at the prize station, while enjoying food, nosh, and live music throughout the afternoon.

Across Purim night, Purim day, and Shushan Purim, the programs reflected the spirit of Oholei Torah where simcha, Torah, and community come together in a vibrant and memorable way.
