Fictional Homicide Scene Set Up in front of Oholei Torah
A frightening scene where body which appeared lifeless and sprawled out in front of Oholei Torah, the neighborhoods largest boys’ school, was actually part of a filming of a TV show earlier today in Crown Heights.
Yesterday, No parking signs were hung up on Eastern Parkway between New York and Brooklyn ahead of a planned video shoot for a TV show. This morning crews set up for a scene, which will appear to take place on a street in France, where police officers will be investigating the scene of a homicide.
An actress played the part of woman who was left dead on the street as French police investigate the “homicide”.

meh, goyim, bread and the circus– all in good fun.
in front of a boy's school!
This could lead to nightmares for the boys- would they do such a scene in front of a public school???
Milhouse
Of course they would. What on earth could possibly have made you think that they wouldn’t?

Typical Crownheightser, I truly believe you should be more concerned with what’s happening inside the walls of ohali torah then outside on the street!!!
Citizen Berel
What is the typical Crownheightser pray tell. What go to the meat meat meat meat place on troy or next to basil.
Crown Heights is ir habirah, kan tziva Hashem es habrocha, there is no more elevated population than that what lives right here you are the farmer.
We have everything for everybody — even a crack house! — you get what you look for.
it was actually quite scary
I happened to walk by and I suddenly see a person laying on the ground and covered in blood.
It was very scary and I almost started screaming.
This had no business being done in front of a school and the producers should have been there warning people that it was staged and not real. Really reckless!
why
yes, why didn’t they do it in front of a public school? and where is the total lack of sensitivity of shooting a murder scene in front of a Jewish school when that is all we keep hearing going on in Israel to JEWS!!!!! I think Oholei Torah should have objected on those grounds. they could have moved it to the public school on Eastern Parkway and Schenactady. Is the few dirty dollars Oholei Torah got worth the insensitivity
Se
About time the school wakes up and beefs op security around the school, otherwise it could be a real crime scene.
מה עובר???
פשוט מצאו זמן מתי לעשות את ההצגות האלה…. שקורים עכשיו כאלה דברים בישראל!!!!!!!!!!! הזוייים חיים בסרט

The real news here is that a street scene in Brooklyn is indistinguishable from one in Paris. Save your airfare $$!
haha
You wish Brooklyn was as nice as Paris. You should maybe spend some money and get a flight of of your box you live in..travel a bit
CR
That was a joke, son. If I gave you a nickel perhaps you could buy a sense of humor, your pseudonym notwithstanding.
Anywhoo, I have traveled around quite a bit, thankUveddmuch. Big cities are ugly, noisy and polluted pretty much everywhere around the world. And all the tourist brochures in the world cannot change that; let me tell you about the gypsy beggars near the Fontana di Trevi, for one…

I think that OT gets payed for this. (I knew the other similar situation where hosts get payed from studio) If this is the case, only those who pay full tuition has right to complain.
Money doesn't buy morals
Why can people who have money be the only ones to share their opinion.
CHT
I don’t pay full tuition – and I don’t tell yeshiva how to, or not to, make up for a shortage. If I would be that smart, I would make up for it myself.
Concerned in MA
Part of a movie was filmed outside the old state hospital where I worked. On my break, I asked a lady in the production crew why they chose this hospital. She said it was supposed to be in late 1880’s England & this hospital looked like the ones in old English photos. I’m guessing your site was chosen for what the building looks like and not what it is.
wow
Which show was this for?
This is wrong!
How terrible to film such a thing in front of a school!! I hope none of the talmidim saw it.
Not amused
A boy in my son’s class felt really sick from seeing this from the classroom window during recess and went to the school office ! I’m really upset at the insensitivity of this film maker. I hope the Yeshiva will sue and get a windfall so some good will come out of this. !
horrific to do this in front of school
unbelievable!
Child
One child saw it from window of yeshiva and told.his teacher he is.not feeling well and began to vomit etc
I was witness
How could ot sue they made money on them
Filming the scene in front of their school
Money??
Don’t u read the signs they posted, they had permits from the city, the school doesn’t have a say on what goes on the public street?, they didn’t enter the building. Why do u allow such posts that have no basis what so ever!

Very scared for the boys
Tv show?
I think any filming for any goyish tv show should not be fine in front of a jewish boys school in kan tziva
Non Jewish crown heights resident
Guys it’s really sad to hear comments about should this have been shot in front of a public school versus OT. The bottom line is that happened infront of a children’s learning facility during school hours. That to me is reckless. I am a 34 year old adult who was driving by and was freaked out because in the moment I just saw a lady lying on the floor with what appeared to be a slashed throat and I panicked and felt really sad for her lost of life and what her family must be about to go through becAuse of her loss. I live one block away and once I found parking I went home and cried for this lady. I used to live in Paris and can distinguish a Parisian crime science from an American one, but in a quick moment of passing by my concern and focus was on the human being lying on the ground, not the scene, not weather or not it was in front of a Jewish school or not or if she she was Jewish or not . Come on guys. This was a bit reckless. The filming should have happened on a non school day with more signage outside clearly letting people know that a film is taking place. That’s just courtesy for any human being that lives, works, attends school, or is just simply passing by in the area.
Citizen Berel
You are absolutely correct.
But you are absolutely incorrect — the filming *shouldn’t* have been done at all.
Protect the kids! From what? From the sickness of their elders? You are half way there.
This circus doesn’t befit the human stature.
Nhuber
I have yet to see something as disturbing and tactless as this. Wow I’m speechless.
vous êtes retardé
vous devriez aller obtenu et voir un film . films et émissions de télévision se filment partout dans New York . il est l’un des plus grandes villes pour le tournage des films après la Californie.
Subject of the Movie
Is it true that the subject of the movie is Call of the Shofar?
