TV Set Rolls into Boro Park, Curious Onlookers Gather
Can you tell the crowd apart from the set? A popular TV crime drama set rolled into Boro Park to shoot for one of their upcoming episodes and strangely, they received a curious and warm welcome! Actor Donnie Wahlberg later tweeted “toda raba”, making a huge Kiddush Hashem in the process.
stranger amongst us
They try to make things look so authentic that some of the hats look like they are from the wrong century. The way they are dressed and the payos come out of the hats you can easily tell which are for real and which are not.
I hope they dont try to pull another stranger amongst us.

Not meaning to be funny or a wise guy–well, maybe a little but all in good humor!–for a site that represents folks who are NOT supposed to be watching television shows, there sure are alot of photos plugging the show. I’ve never seen the show only the promos and you’re not missing anything.

Who needs that in a religous neighborhood? Let them take their garbage elsewhere.
They need help
I would have love to be there so I could go in and give them a little wardrobe help. You know, fix the hats the peyos etc
mendy
Momassh beautiful such a kiddush hashem

you can tell the real from the fake chassidim a mile away!

get a life!
Who’s the real deal & who are the actors? Love the dolls as kids…real authentic!
easy to spot!
real chassidim dont stand legs apart with hands in pocket. you can spot and actor this way.
also, no beard, facial hair under bottom lip is a giveaway.
one more, the actors shlep their hats down too far, and the band on the crown looks like its a wrinkled ribbon, not the stiff crisp ones on real hats.
they were right in front of a hat store, owner should have offered free hats for advertisement!

Very well made!!! Great pics!!

If they look Amish, you know they aint chassidim! any way you slice it-a goy looks like a goy! and they get paid for dressing up?? nu, nu.
Shimon Shak
Apparently the context of the episode they were shooting was not so flattering to religious Jews so once this comes out it might not be such a kiddush H’!
Wrong Strollers
If they really wanted to be authentic they should have used Bugaboos or Maclarens!!! :)

they received a curious and warm welcome!
A yeshiva friend
I see Zelig, and his daughter. Good for you.
Wake up Yidden!
Wake up Yidden!
Is this the first time something like this happened? How many times do we have to be abused by the tv and movie industry to know that they are usually using us for their own purposes – mikorvin lonu litzorech atzman – and the end result usually doesn’t make us look too attractive?
Just about two and a half months ago there was a similar thing in CH with a famous menuval director – http://www.crownheights.inf…
Wake up and don’t get fooled by the glamour and the glitz of tv and movies, when the end product is big time SHMUTZ!
cant tell which is which
cant tell the dif between the real ones
just sayin-
they need costume help. nobody ever dresses chassidim right for the screen. there’s always something a little “off.”
Reuvain and Chaya Nesha Stoll
#11 and what is that comment supposed to mean? you are very rude. It is obvious by your comment you are a ghetto mentality minded Jew. Jews come in all shapes, sizes and YES looks.
Not proud
If only these people would know the story line, they would run the other way

Ok, cut them some slack, the best they could do were the Amish out of work for the winter! They are not like the Federal government, they have a budget!
