Oholei Torah Holds Father and Son Melava Malka

This past Motzei Shabbos the Oholei Torah pre1-A, 1st and 2nd grades had their annual Father and Son Melava Malkah.  Unique to this year, is that each of the three grades, now have 5 parallel classes, totaling 15 classes with over 350 students.

The whole week leading up to the Melava Malka, the hallways in school were buzzing with excitement, in anticipation of this event.

The evening began with fathers learning with their sons special Parsha sheets. Guest speaker Rabbi Chaim Fogelman spoke about Hey Teves and related to the children the unbelievable joy Hey Teves brought to the Rebbe and the Chassidim. Rabbi Meir Shimshoni, Principal of these grades, spoke about the importance of parents learning with their children and urged that each father make a dedicated time to learn weekly, thus giving support and encouragement to their sons, in their learning and menchlichkeit.

Musical entertainment complete with exciting dancing was provided by Eli Marcus and Chony Zucker, while fire juggling acts and a choir all kept the young students entertained.

Each child received their very own Mincha Maariv, at the request of Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director of Oholei Torah. Following the event the fathers joined their sons, as they toured the Hay Teves Book fair, which is sponsored by the Oholei Torah PTA.
