Silver Dollars from the Rabbeim Used for Machtzis Hashekel
On Taanis Esther one of the customs of the day is to give Machtzis Hashekel before Mincha. In 770 there were many choices, including coins the Rebbe used and coins that the Frierdiker Rebbe had given for this very purpose.
Among those offering the opportunity to give tzedakkah were:
R’ Berel Lipsker, offering coins that the Rebbe had previously used to do Machtzis Hashekel, the proceeds of which go to the Shul.
R’ Chesed Halberstam, offering the opportunity to use a set of three coins – silver half dollars – which were given by the Frierdiker Rebbe to be used for Machtzis Hashekel
R’ Avrohom Leider, offering to use his silver coins to benefit his organization Ahavas Chesed.
R’ Shmuel Benjamin, offering to use his silver coins to benefit Keren Simchas Chosson V’Kallah.
R’ Mendel Shagalov, offering to use his silver coins to benefit his soup kitchen.

The first picture is of half-dollars. The “Barber” design was common across a few coin denominations in the early 1900s: dimes, quarters and half-dollars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Barber_coinage
