Although, Lag Ba’omer was a while ago, the excitement In The Heights has created in our community is only increasing.
On Motzai Shabbos, April 27th, an exhilarating concert was held in honor of Lag Ba’omer for the single girls of Crown Heights. Esther Freeman and Rivkah Eilfort – two very talented singers – graced us with their presence and wowed us with their performances!
The songs were invigorating, inspiring and just plain old fun!
Eilfort, debuted her new single, Ill Keep You Safe, accompanied by her skillful playing of the ukulele.
To cater to the highly popular and commendable healthy eating habits of the girls, a salad bar was set up for the audience to enjoy.
Ending the evening, there was open dancing.
For those of you who have seen our earlier announcement for the new Shabbos in the Heights courses and events being offered, – also being done li’yilui nishmas Shayna Bracha bas R’ Chaim – we are proud to announce that they are off to a good start.
So far we have had a slew of phenomenal speakers on an array of relevant topics including:
Rabbi Daniel Schunboch, a marriage and family therapist, spoke about the “Art” and “Science” of dating.
Mrs. Yaakova Weber openly discussed why she left her successful opera singing career and became religious.
Mrs. Leah Shapiro practically taught about how to actualize potential through the power of speech.
Rabbi Kesselman from South Africa explored the concept of how we would change G-D’s blueprints if given the chance.
And Rabbi Hecht from Eilat, Israel explained “Mi Hu Yehudi”, and the political controversy behind the word “k’halacha”.
We would like to thank the speakers who have shared their time and knowledge, and the girls who have been able to join us at our programs.
