NYC’s Speed Limit Will Drop to a Strict 15 mph in 800 Areas
New York City will add 800 more “slow zones” capped at 15 mph by the end of the year, officials said Monday.
The move will bring strict speed limits to schools across the city, increasing the number of schools with slow zones to 1,300.
City officials said every eligible school across the five boroughs will receive a reduced speed limit by the end of Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s first term.
