New York City Emergency Management Department today issued a hazardous travel advisory for whiteout conditions during a heavy to moderate snowfall expected this evening.

Heavy to moderate snowfall is expected Wednesday evening just in time to snarl traffic for rush hour commuters. the snow, expected to last from 30 minutes to an hour, will be compounded with heavy wind gusts.
All together an approximate 1 inch of snow is expected to accumulate, with driving conditions remaining dangerous and possibly icy.
