MTA Considers Installing Sliding Doors

The MTA will reconsider installing sliding doors on some subway platforms to prevent riders from getting killed or injured by trains, a top official told the Daily News.

    A big advantage of installing doors is that they would allow subway stations to be air-conditioned, as they are in many cities. Right now it’s impossible, because the platforms are exposed to the tracks and the tunnels.

    I’ve had door for years. Not sure why it’s taking the subway so long to catch up.

    Maybe borrow some other ideas from Paris, such as an efficient train system without any ‘Train traffic’ or more trains per hour.
