BDE: Reb Shmuel Yakov Finck, 63, OBM

With great sadness and pain we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Shmuel Yakov Finck OBM, a member of Anash of Crown Heights, and father and grandfather of a proud chabad family. He passed away on early Thursday morning, 19 teves, 5779

He was 63 years old and suffered from a short illness.

Reb Shmuel was born in Cleveland, Ohio and became a proud bal teshuva during his years in college. Together with his wife, Miriam, he raised a large chabad family.

Reb Shmuel was a vibrant, vivacious individual with a thirst for life and Torah. He was a tremendous bal tzedakah and supported many shluchim throughout the world in their endeavors. He never said no to people when they came to him in their times of need and there was always a steady stream of visitors whom he greeted with open arms. Reb Shmuel was dedicated to helping college students experience Torah and Yiddishkeit and together with his peers, set up a scholarship program for students to learn in Eretz Yisroel.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam, and his children Chana Zelda Werde (Crown Heights), Mordechei Shimon Finck  (Crown Heights), Levi Yitzchak Finck (Daytona Beach, FL), Avraham Meir Finck (Los Angeles, CA), Chaya Mushka Revere (Los Angeles, CA), Menachem Mendel Finck (Crown Heights), Shaul Yisroel Finck (Denver, CO), Shneur Zalman Finck (Daytona beach, FL), Devorah Leah Finck (Crown Heights), and Ari Abba Finck (Crown Heights), and his beloved grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother Shirley Finck, and his sisters Barbara Landay, and Denise Finck.

The Funeral will be at Shomrei Hadas at 1:00pm, passing 770 at 2:00pm, Kevura at Monefiore Cemetary at 3:00pm.
