The advisory, in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday at 1:00am, warns of slippery road surfaces due to possible flash flooding.
The heaviest period of rainfall is forecast between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The National Weather Service predicts a total of an inch, to an inch and a half of rain, with higher amounts possible with heavy downpours. New Yorkers should prepare for slippery road conditions, and should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking. High winds are also in the forecast, with gusts as high as 40 mph Monday and Tuesday.
