Boruch Dayan Hoemes: R’ Reuvein Rapoport, 87, OBM

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Reuvein Rapoport, OBM, a devout Chosid and the patriarch of a large family of Chassidim and Shluchim all over the world. He was 87 years old.

Reb Reuven was born in western Ukraine in 1930, when it was a part of Stalin’s Soviet Union. His family emigrated to the U.S. when he was a child, and he was one of the first students enrolled in Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in 770.

He was very loved by all who knew him, and his devotion as a Chosid of the Rebbe was exemplary.

He is survived by his children: Rabbi Yaakov Rapoport (Syracuse, NY), Rabbi Shmuel Dovid Rapoport (Atlantic City, NJ), Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport (Vineland, NJ), Rabbi Boruch Rapoport (Crown Heights), Mrs. Ella Adler (Kensington, NY), Mrs. Chaya Sarah Richler (Montreal, Canada), and Mrs. Rina Lieberman (Kensingson, NY).

He is survived as well by his siblings: Rabbi Dovid Rapoport (Mequon, WI), Mrs. Sarah Schonbrun (Petach Tikvah, Israel), and Mrs. Shoshana Stiskind (Petach Tikvah, Israel).

The levaya will take place today, Friday, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 2:00pm and passing by 770 at 3:00pm.
