Boruch Dayan Hoemes: Mrs. Rivky Berman, 29, OBM
With great sadness and pain we inform you of the untimely passing of Mrs. Rivky Berman, OBM, daughter of Connecticut Shluchim Rabbi Yisroel and Vivi Deren. She was 29 years old.
Rivky was born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, where her parents serve as Chabad emissaries.
Despite her lifelong medical challenges, she was always in a positive spirit and working to help others, including her many hours dedicated to children with special needs through the local chapter of the Friendship Circle.
Her personal blog was a source of inspiration to many who like her suffered from personal challenges, but preferred to live in the positive.
About four years ago, she married Shmuly Berman in a joyous celebration in her hometown of Stamford. The young couple then moved on Shlichus to Raleigh, North Carolina.

So sad to hear. She helped me so much with my son when we came to Duke for a lung transplant evaluation. She even cooked my son a beautiful dinner. So tragic. Her husband and family should be comforted. We need Moshisch now to end all the suffering. Sima Ruby
