Torontos Snowy Mitzvah Tank Parade
In honor of the Rebbe’s 111th Birthday, on Wednesday Tes Nissan, 8 Mitzva Tanks paraded through the streets of the Greater Toronto Area bringing the awareness of Pesach to thousands of Jews.
With a steady snowfall, the parade left 770 Chabad Gate and traveled through many busy streets in Toronto including Yonge St., the longest street in the world. As the parade trekked through the icy roads many Jews were attracted and impressed by the beautiful scene.
The tanks loaded with Bochurim and Anash continued on to their respective destinations and distributed thousands of Matzos, Neshek packages, and of course Pesach guides in several languages. Hundreds had the opportunity to don Tefillin, give Tzedaka and ignite the Jewish spark within them.
This was made possible by a group of dedicated Bochurim who worked tirelessly to make this a success. Thank you to Mendy Goldberg, Shmuli Shuchat, Dovid Goldberg, who headed this project and Shimon Goldberg, Shmuli Ceitlin, Sholom Ceitlin, Aryeh Lavner, Meir Aisenbach, and Kalmen Shuchat as well as many others who helped out .
A big thank you to Aryeh Lavner – A.L.L. productions for producing the video.
Yasher koach to the Head Shluchim
The leaders of today train the leaders of tomorrow, the youth, in leadership. A great big yasher koach to Head Shluchim Rabbis Zalman and Itchie Grossbaum for generously funding and organizing the sponsorship for this project.
Go Bochurim!!!
With all due respect to the head Shluchim and camp directors…this project was funded totally by the Bochurim themselves. This Yud Aleph Nissan project has been an undertaking of the heads of this project for the last 8 years. If understood correctly the Bochurim themselves work tirelessly for weeks on end fundraising, organizing, packing and making sure that the tank parade and the mivtzoim runs smoothly and is a smashing success!!!!! A Big Yasher Koach to them and to their supporters!!!
GO TO!
Beautiful parade in the Snow! to #2 maybe ZAG didnt fund it, but surely he is the insperation behind it. A true leader in Chabad! When are we going to hear him give the keynote at the kinnus? A true chossid he is proboly to modest to do it. BTW did k55 have a tank?
Go Bochurim!!!
R’ ZAG is a chassidishe yid and all, aber tzu dem hot er nit kein shaichus nit and was not involved one bit- no one is blaming/accusing etc. but lets just get our facts straight…
and no, k55 did not have a tank.
GO ZAG!
To #4 They did start the parade at 770 Chabad Gate and R’ZAG was there to send them off. How can you sya “er nit kein shaichus nit” Judaism would be nowhere in TO with out him!!! Zag and MS were for sure running it behind scenes.
Go Bochurim!!!
In the spirit of yom tov, let us all agree that the parade was a great success. The bochurim did a great job. Living in Toronto, I know that the Goldberg boys were behind the entire parade with the help of other bochurim who all worked very hard. RSA is doing a fantastic job in Toronto but he is not involved with the parade. He allows the bochurim to start off at Chabad. By the way why are the streets not lined with people giving the bochurim support as they leave? As is done in NY? Seeing them off and wishing them great success?
