Mivtza Lulav on a Sukkah Mobile in London!

The walls of the Sukkah were swaying, the Schach was almost flying away, and it really looked like the Sukkah was some time soon going to fall down. But there was no hurricane, no thunderstorm, no rain, it was hardly windy, but the signs of the Sukkah were flapping it looked like they would not be gracing our Sukkah much longer…

The Sukkah mobile was speeding down the road on the way to Mivtzoim in Southgate, London. Where over 300 people bentched Lulov and Esrog

For decades there has been mobile Sukkos going out to the streets of London allowing thousands of Yidden to fulfill the mitzvah of Lulav and Esrog

“Over 800 people shook Lulov and Esrog just with this Sukkah mobile alone” says Nosson one of the Bochurim on Mivtzoim

One of the bochurim recounted to me a story – or the way he put it, a miracle. On the 3rd day Chol Hamoed as we started setting out to St Johns Wood – one of the most affluent Jewish community’s in London, the clouds opened and let the rain flow. “It was bucketing” says Reuveni, the driver of the Sukkah mobile that day; it was rain that London had not seen in months. The roads were flooding, and the streets were obviously deserted. We were driving through these massive puddles on the road. We were not going to turn back, we knew we are on the Rebbe’s Mivtzoim and were sure that G-d would not let us down.

As we were arriving in St Johns Wood the rain started slowing down and by the time we had found a place to park the rain had completely stopped. The sun started shining for the rest of the day, where we shook Lulov with at least 120 people.

The Sukkah was generously sponsored by Anash of the Stamford hill community and B”H went out all the days of Chol Hamoed.
