Chaim V’Chessed: Ministers Announce New Tax Breaks for Olim; Senior Tax Authority Officials Clarify Details
In recent days, Finance Minister Beztalel Smotrich, together with Aliyah and Integration Minister Ofir Sofer, unveiled plans for a forthcoming package of tax breaks for olim. The central component of the proposal is an income tax exemption for new olim and returning residents who make aliyah in the coming years. Chaim V’Chessed representatives were invited to participate in the press event announcing the initiative.
Following the announcement, on Monday, November 23, senior officials from the Tax Authority visited Chaim V’Chessed for a detailed follow-up meeting. Idit Lev-Zrachya, Tax Authority Spokesperson and Rachela Akoka, Senior Division Manager, both high-ranking officials in the authority, reviewed and explained the developing regulations. The officials stressed that these benefits will only take effect once a state budget bill is passed in the Knesset. They also discussed various additional issues of concern affecting English-speaking olim.
During their visit, the officials met with Paysach Freedman, CEO and were given a full tour of Chaim V’Chessed’s operations, providing them with a firsthand look at the organization’s wide-ranging work on behalf of the English-speaking community.
Chaim V’Chessed extends its thanks to the Tax Authority for this important visit and for their continued partnership in supporting olim throughout Israel.
