Photos: Satmar Marks Yom Tov in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS — Satmar Chassidim gathered in the Bedford Avenue armory in Crown Heights Heights marking Kuf Alef Kislev, the day Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum Zt’l, the founder of Satmar Chassidus in America, escaped from Hungary during the holocaust.

Over 10,000 Satmar Chassidim packed into the Armory in Crown Heights where they danced and heard droshos from Rabonim, which was punctuated a speech from the Satmar Rebbe Rabbi Zalman Leib Teitelbaum.

The event featured a fundraiser for the Satmar Moisdos and Yeshivas.

    is this why there were so many police around Tuesday eve? many streets from Empire going towards eastern parkway were closed off to traffic.

    jut think satamer came to crown heights loads of police and security roads blocked very organized and it was all done for satamer who do not live in this area
    they sure know how to get things done even when it is out of there own community
    we should learn from them
    try and get police to work for our neighborhood ………….

    But then again, there is an incredible achdus in Lubavitch today. 10,000+ chassidm who all agree that there is absolutely no-one who could (or is sheyech to) become a New Rebbe.

    Has anyone considered that in such an atmosphere, a Nistar could easily hide incognito, with no-one clued up enough to notice? Anyone who has real potential is not going to emerge one day and say “Let’s go”.

    But seriously, who’s really looking?

    The Satmars gathered to celebrate Kuf Aleph Kislev. Those are the exact words. Last checked, the days go up to lamed at most.
