Boruch Dayan Ha’emes: R’ Shmuel Kunda, OBM
With sadness we inform you of the passing last night of Reb Shmuel Kunda, OBM, following a lengthy illness. Many of us grew up listening to his popular Jewish story tapes, including: When Zaidy Was Young and The Magic Yarmulka.
R’ Shmuel was approximately 65 years old.
He resided with his family in Lakewood the last few years after becoming ill, and passed away in Cleveland. His wife, Naomi, OBM, was Niftar in 2010.

Boruch Dayan Emes!!! We have almost all his tapes!! He was SO talented!!! My children know his story dialogues verbatim! May his family be comforted at this difficult time….

my husband and I also remember him and his great talent in gan israel in the 1960’s when my husband was assistant head counselor.. he performed various duties there at the time, including i think the camp newspaper..

So soorry to hear. i really enjoyed his tapes as a child, and i now play them for my children. He deserves tremendous credit for bringing kosher entertainment to jewish children. may his neshoma have an aliya!
