Rabbi Braun Resigns from the Crown Heights Beth Din for the Sake of Peace

Purim 2011: With his election and coronation shrouded in bitter controversy, Rabbi Braun submitted his official resignation for the sake of peace and unity, and in an effort to finally put an end to the divisiveness in the Crown Heights community resulting from his appointment to the Beth Din.

“From the discussions I have had with community and other leaders, I have concluded that I do not have the support of the community that I would consider necessary to back the very difficult decisions and carry out the duties of this position in the way the interests of the community would require,” the resignation letter reads in part.

“I would have preferred to carry through to the finish whatever the personal and communal agony it would have involved, and my family unanimously urged me to do so. But the interest of the community must always come before any personal considerations.

“Therefore, I shall resign the Rabbinate effective at shkiah tomorrow,” the letter concludes.

If it’s true it’s about time. The problems he created etc. with his games stories make him to be a shady character
