Fire Fighters Quick Response Contains Fire

A fast moving fire broke out in an apartment on Montgomery Street. The fire was quickly extinguished thanks to the fast response of the fire department and there were no reported injuries.

The fire broke out at around 6:30pm in a 3rd floor apartment in 921 Montgomery Street, which is right off Schenectady Avenue. The fire was contained to just one apartment thanks to the quick response of the fire fighters.

At the scene a frantic home aid approached a Shomrim volunteer, he was concerned that the resident, and 87-year-old man, who he cares for during the day was trapped in the apartment. The volunteer put him in touch with the police and found that the man was not home – rather he was in the hospital all day for an unrelated reason.

The building has 94 residential units and is owned by Joseph Popack.

  • To number one

What a terrible thing to say!
We should thank Hashem that no one was injured.

Clearly not a good way to try to evict a tenant. City will make you fix the apartment and put the tenant back in, amongst other things. I hope Yossi gets rich now and gives a lot more tzedakah to the Community.
