CSSY Distributes 1900lb of Matzah and Other Time Sensitive Information
CSSY has distributed a total of 1,900 pounds of matzah, with 1,100 pounds generously provided through a grant from Rabbi Dovid and Gitel Fisher, from the Crown Heights Matzah Bakery on Albany Avenue. This effort is part of a broader initiative to help Crown Heights families prepare for Pesach.
In addition to the matzah, over 550 families have received food vouchers and cash grants to help cover the costs of food and other essential Yom Tov items. The need for assistance this year is unprecedented, with more families than ever reaching out to CSSY for support.
Many families that once made generous donations to the organization are now finding themselves in need. The economic strain has taken a toll on many, and as a result, CSSY has seen a significant increase in the number of people seeking help. The combination of rising living costs and the financial pressure of preparing for Pesach has created a challenging environment for many in our community. There are still people calling and reaching out for help, underscoring the ongoing need.
Despite these financial challenges, CSSY remains committed to ensuring that no one is turned away. “Money is going out faster than it is coming in,” said Benjy Stock, Director of CSSY. “But we are doing everything we can to meet the overwhelming demand. Thanks to the support of the community, over 550 families now have the resources they need to celebrate Pesach with dignity. Every contribution is vital to continue this important work.”
As demand continues to grow, CSSY urgently calls on everyone in the community to lend their support. It is crucial that every family in need receives the assistance they deserve. With the continued partnership of the community, CSSY is determined to ensure that no one is left behind this Pesach.
CSSY thanks each individual who have already contributed. For those who have not yet, or those who are blessed with the ability to give more, please donate now!
Please open your hearts and wallets and donate generously to our Maos Chitim Fund. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference and help ensure that every family can celebrate Pesach with dignity and joy.
