Woman Musicians Rock Out For Sandy Victims

Last Motzei Shabbos, November 24th, the Bulletproof Stockings among other women musicians rocked out to a packed house at the Mimulo flower shop in Crown Heights. The event was a benefit concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

All the proceeds from the concert went to ‘Sandy Help’, an organization started by Moshe Frank. It was sponsored by a new organization called Mikimi which intends to bring more such events to Crown Heights.

“We were amazed at the turnout of the event,” said Dalia Shusterman, drummer of Bulletproof Stockings, “and we can’t wait to do more.”

Bulletproof Stockings, a band that has only been around for a year or so, has flown into prominence recently with articles featuring it in publications such as the New York Post, the Jewish Press, and the Times of Israel.

Other musicians that played that night included Chanie Kravitz, Riv Eilfort, Rochel Sam, and Rivka Leah Cylich.

Beautiful mitzvah. How wonderful that there are outlets for women of talent.

Riv Eilfort does Rosh Chodesh events for Chabad Houses. She is wonderful and really connects with the women.
