12-Year-Old ‘Knockout’ Victim: Moment of Silence Better Solution than Prison
A 12-year-old Jewish boy who was a “knockout” victim two weeks ago told CBS 2′s Tony Aiello that he’s more interested in an apology than seeing his attackers go to jail.
The yeshiva student, who is devoutly religious, thinks a mandatory moment of silence in public schools would help.
“I think this could have all been prevented,” said the boy, who asked not to be identified.
“The boys and teens would know that there’s always a God watching them, and they wouldn’t only be afraid of the police,” he added.
Last week, the boy’s father told CBS 2 that after his son was struck at random by a group of teenagers, one gave “a hysterial, happy shout: ‘We got him.’”

That’s the right spirit. Prisons only increase violent crime and is cruel punishment that turns lighter offenders into hardened criminals. The Rebbe said how its overuse, R”L, endangers all of society. In America it’s beyond belief, R”L.

The paragraph could use some editing.
“A 12-year-old Jewish boy who was a “knockout” victim two weeks ago told CBS 2′s Tony Aiello that he’s more interested in an apology than seeing his attackers go to jail.
The yeshiva student, who is devoutly religious, thinks a mandatory moment of silence in public schools would help.”
Comment: Despite the mysterious implication, there is no connection at all between the apology and a moment of silence.
The moment of silence, for those who may be unaware, is a daily moment of silence where students are supposed to use to think about what they are to think about in a moment of silence.
This policy was strongly encouraged by the Rebbe, and was once being considered at the policy level (legal?) for some set of the public schools.
Wow!
What a kiddush Hashem!

great job
All great speakers are coached. Pres Obama goes everywhere with his teleprompter. This kid got a GREAT message across in like 7 seconds. That takes talent and coaching. Great job!

To the 12 year old, you will understand when you are older that a moment of silence will not teach the black panther scum that attacked you a lesson. Secondly, they will probably not apologize, after all in their minds, you are getting “payback” for “what you deserve”! Thirdly, they should face heavy criminal charges and have juvenile jail sentences ruin their useless lives.
