Shluchim inspire Bochurim of Chovevei Torah
Over the course of the International Conference of Shluchim this year, the bochurim of Chovevei Torah were privileged to hear from several shluchim who took time out of their busy schedules to share some of their inspiration. They spoke about and told stories of their shlichus and encouraged the bochurim to increase their learning.
Those who generously gave of their time to speak and farbreng with the bochurim were: Rabbi Avrohom Yitzchok Perlstein – shliach in Salem, Oregon; Rabbi Gansburg – shliach in Toronto, Canada; Rabbi Yoseph Y. Zaltzman – shliach in Toronto, Canada; Rabbi Yosef Greenberg – shliach in Anchorage, Alaska; Rabbi Nechemia Wilhelm – shliach in Bangkok, Thailand; Rabbi Yossie Denburg, – shliach in Coral Springs, Florida; Rabbi Boruch Hecht – shliach in Brentwood, California; and Rabbi Mendy Cohen – shliach in Sacramento, California and keynote speaker of this year’s Shluchim’s Convention Banquet.
The shluchim told personal stories of miracles that happen on shlichus, the challenges they meet every day and how they overcome with the Rebbe’s brochos. They spoke about the connection they see and feel daily with the Rebbe and how the Rebbe reaches out and cares for everyone. With perseverance, shluchim see their cities and people in communities become totally transformed for the better. They communicated the need to be well prepared for shlichus by learning well and utilizing every moment while in Yeshiva.
Rabbi Mendy Cohen spoke on the topic of Kiddushin being studied by yeshivos all over this year. He shared with the bochurim common kiddushin related issues that come up in shlichus, and connected it with his famous work explaining the differing views of the Rambam and the Raavad on the matter.
The Hanholo and the bochurim expressed their great appreciation and admiration for the shluchim for taking time out of their tight schedules to come to the yeshiva to share, give and teach.
