Kelly addresses violence in Crown Heights again

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly visited Crown Heights for a second time Wednesday to reaffirm calm in the area after a period of unrest.

Community leaders say they feel reassured by the city’s response to two recent violent incidents.

Andrew Charles was allegedly attacked last month by a group of Jewish men as he was walking down Carroll Street.

Alon Sherman was allegedly beaten and robbed by two black teens earlier this month.

Jewish leaders in Crown Heights say the problems have less to do with race and more to do with crime.

Charles recently held a news conference in which he echoed those sentiments.

I am unaware of the fact that Shea Hecht is a leader of our community. When exactly was he elected to any post of leadership?

The only thing I know is, that when residents were complaining on the radio against the organized refusal of the police to listen to us (by refusing to take, or by losing reports about crime perpetrated against Jews), Shea acted like a spokesman of the police, by accusing the complainers of not telling the truth. However when a lady called from Manhattan, claiming that she works with blacks and whites, Shea asked for her number so he can get some publicity with her.

So basically who does Shea work for? The Jewish residents or the police? Guess why the police commissioner comes to Shea’s house for a one on one meeting instead of meeting with the elected leaders of the community or with the groups that showed leadership, like the leadership council, which managed to organize the community to get the attention of the police? Or with our Shmira/Shomrim patrols which have been out on the streets protecting us?

I suggest that Shea is preparing for his next job in the next mayors administration, which may very well be Mayor Ray Kelly. That’s why all is pretty with the police under commissioner Kelly according to Shea. Remember, Shea was a commissioner under Guiliani, does anyone remember any of the major contributions made by the Mayors office thanks to Shea?

    I don’t.

Shea, get yourself a good job, but not on our blood.

    May Hashem protect us.

Crown Heights needs someone like Hecht to speak and represent us. Otherwise we are left with people with legal problems like Rubashkin and photo op freaks like Sperlin- neither of them has done anything of note with the government.

Hecht can put words together in clear English. Very few of our people can do that. Give Hecht some kavod for having seichel.

She Hecht should be elected in the current forthcoming elections for Vaad Hakohol.

If he is the only spokesmen he certainly deserves our vote.
