Bondi Beach Shooter Slammed With 59 Charges, 15 For Murder
59 charges were filed today (Wednesday) against Naveed Akram, one of the perpetrators of the fatal attack in Sydney, Australia, which occurred in the Bondi Beach area.
Among the charges are: committing an act of terrorism and 15 counts of murder – one for each of the 15 victims in the attack. Akram carried out the attack with his father, Sajid Akram, 50, who was killed at the scene.
Chris Minns, the Premier of New South Wales, commented on the incident and said that the district parliament would be summoned for an emergency discussion on gun control laws aimed at limiting the number of firearms an individual can legally own.
