Intoxicated Package Thief Arrested With the Help Of Crown Heights Shomrim

A heavily intoxicated package thief, still with hospital bands on his arms, was arrested Sunday night after Crown Heights Shomrim received a call for help in East Flatbush.

“Last night, Shomrim responded to a call for a thief stealing multiple packages in East Flatbush,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote on social media. “Thanks to an alert resident, and the swift response of @NYPD67Pct together with Shomrim, the suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest.”

The responding Shomrim volunteers arrived to find thief heavily intoxicated on a recreational substance, having stolen from a local Jewish resident.

Officers from the 67th Precinct arrived en masse and took the thief into custody, to the relief of the Jewish and non-Jewish community alike.

Unfortunately, the epidemic of the mentally ill continues to plague the Crown Heights Jewish community and it’s surrounding areas, with recidivist criminals continually revolving in and out of hospitals and local precincts.
