Arson Suspected As Car Torched In Crown Heights Sunday Night

A fire that started in a parked vehicle in Crown Heights Sunday night is being investigated as an arson, CrownHeights.info has learned, after video footage shows a car bursting into flames and a person running from the scene.

The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning in the area of Brooklyn Ave and Rutland Road. Video footage shows a man approach a vehicle before it bursts into flames, giving rise to the assumption that an accelerant was used to start the fire.

The FDNY and NYPD were on scene and recieved assistance from Crown Heights Shomrim, who provided video footage of the incident.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
