Motzoai Shabbos Attempted Car Break-in

This past Motzoai Shabbos Shomrim received a call for a car that had just been broken into in a garage in the back yard of a resident. The incident took place on Lefferts Ave between Albany and Troy at around 9:30pm when a resident heard his neighbors car alarm go off in the garage behind the house, he quickly went outside to take a look and found that a stick had been used to break the car window and attempt and gain entry into the car.

It seemed that the perpetrator got scared off by the vehicles anti theft system which went off when he tried to open the door. The perpetrator had fled before Shomrim members arrived on scene and canvass of the area did not yield any results.

It’s become more and more obvious that the home burglaries and car burglaries are becoming more brazen, residents are urged to take notice of everything surrounding them, if you see something out of the ordinary or someone out of place, please notify the police and Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 24/7

  • To help make CH a safer place

Can someone post information on how to join Shomrim here in Crown Heights.
I think that some more people get involved and patrol streets to help make it safer.
I would like to volunteer if someone can post the info.
    Thanks
