Knife-Wielding Man Tells Young Woman ‘Come with Me’
A horrifying incident occurred Sunday night to a young Jewish mother in Crown Heights, when she was accosted in the dark by a knife-wielding assailant, who menacingly said to her “Come with me.”
The incident occurred on President Street between Albany and Troy Avenues at around 11:30pm.
Unsure of the man’s intentions, the woman cried out for help, and thankfully caught the attention of one of the neighbors, who immediately called the police.
The witness told CrownHeights.info that after the woman cried for help, the assailant walked away leisurely, laughing as if the whole incident was some kind of joke.
Police initially reported the incident as harassment, and will likely reclassify it as attempted kidnapping, sources at the 71st Precinct told CrownHeights.info.
Police sources told CrownHeights.info that they cannot legally classify the incident as attempted rape, since the man did not physically or verbally make his intentions clear.
