CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Regency Cleaners and Gombos Bakery were both the victims of a robbery and an attempted robbery early this morning. The dry cleaner was broken in to and a charity box was stolen, while at the bakery the thief did not manage to get it, but he caused damage.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Regency Cleaners and Gombos Bakery were both the victims of a robbery and an attempted robbery early this morning. The dry cleaner was broken in to and a charity box was stolen, while at the bakery the thief did not manage to get it, but he caused damage.

According to surveillance video, the suspect appears to be Yosef Hoffman, aka Lawrence Hoffman, who was arrested just two months ago for successfully burglarizing Gombos.

At the cleaners the thief left behind what appeared to be blood on the floor of the store and on the rock. Police were called and a crime scene unit collected the evidence.

    who the heck robs gombo’s??? serving the community with fine baked goods for so long…as for the dry cleaner’s, maybe someone was bitter after that court case so they robbed it.

    That was the same guy drug-addict that did it last time,
    I saw him early today on Kingston,I was sure he did something bad again,sad to say I wasn’t wrong.
    in the old days when we were united he wouldn’t be able to walk the next morning nor the next 2 month…
    sad but true.

    obviously this man has something against gombos and he better be careful. it seems like he a psychopath and psychopaths will do anything to get whatever it is that they need or want and especially hurt someone. maybe security can stand on that block 24/7 for a few weeks or until this man is out of the picture.
