Menorah Lit in Canadian Parliament

Nearly two hundred Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators and staff representing all of Canada’s political parties gathered together on Parliament Hill for a Chanukah celebration.

The Canadian Federation of Chabad Lubavitch, together with the Hon. Minister Jason Kenney, hosted the annual Menorah lighting.

Speakers included Rabbi Chaim Mendelsohn, Director of Public Affairs for the Canadian Federation of Chabad Lubavitch; Rabbi Reuven Bulka of Congregation Machzikei Hadas; His Excellency Rafael Barak, Israeli Ambassador to Canada; The Hon. Jason Kenney, Minister of Employment and Social Development and Multiculturalism; The Hon. Thomas Mulcair, Leader of the Opposition and The Hon. Irwin Cotler, Member of Parliament.

The Hon. Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, participated in the Menorah lighting.

Following the ceremony, the guests were entertained by violinist Justin Azerad while they indulged in a wonderful catered buffet.
