Shore Mall Hosts “Chanukah Wonderland”

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — With shopping malls around the country decking their halls in celebration of the holiday season, one local mall was the sight of a holiday first.

The Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township hosted its inaugural Chanukah Wonderland Saturday afternoon.

Open to the entire community, the event featured a fiery juggling and stunt show, a musical performance, and special appearance by the biblical heroes of the Chanukah story, “The Maccabees.”

The highlight of the afternoon was the Menorah lighting near the end of the mall to commemorate the holiday of lights.

Event Coordinator Rabbi Avrohom Rapoport says the event is intended to “bring the spirit of Chanukah to life for children and instill in them a feeling of Jewish pride.”
