BDE: Mrs. Chaya Zohara (Georgette) Wald, 75, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Mrs. Chaya Zohara (Georgette) Wald OBM, a woman who merited to have multiple Yechidusin with the Rebbe and former resident of Crown Heights.

She was 75 years old.

Born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, Direct descendant from the Abergel dynasty, started her life eagerly yearning to be close to Hashem. Educated at beis rivka in Morocco and completed her teshuva through Rabbi Pachter in France, where she wholeheartedly embraced her Yiddishkeit. She came to Crown Heights in the 1980’s where she lived there for three years and eventually married and moved to Boro Park where she has lived most of her life.

Her strong determination and perseverance regarding her faith and connection to Hashem is something that no one will understand. She was a firm believer in Tzadikim and merited to Have 5 yechidus with the Rebbe, countless of Sunday dollars as well as correspondences with the Rebbe.

She is survived by her only child Rochel Wald.

She was predeceased by her husband Reb Eliyahu Wald HYD, who passed away al kiddush Hashem in December 1987 in Boro Park.
