Camp Chomeish Reunites, Bringing the Rebbe’s Words to Life

Ever wondered how one summer’s inspiration can truly last throughout the year? For Camp Chomeish 5785 campers, a recent reunion made that feel very real.

This past 22 Shvat weekend, Camp Chomeish reunited for an evening filled with warmth, camp chayus and connection. Girls flew in, and drove in, from near and far, all drawn back by the powerful bond that Camp Chomeish creates. From the moment they arrived at the reunion, it felt like coming home; the familiar energy, the smiles, and the Ahavas Yisroel!

The head counselors, Sarah Freida Goldblatt, Minnie Reinetz, Fruma Pevzner and Mushka Cohen (virtually), prepared an uplifting, fantastic program, complete with pizza, tzedakah, an interactive game, camp video, singing, 770 Reality Check and Moshiach energy, alongside the Ruchnius Directors, Devora Barber and Shaina Korf. Camp dances were danced, memories were shared, and the unmistakable Camp Chomeish spirit filled the room.

This reunion was especially meaningful with a clear connection to the Rebbe’s guidance. In a letter from the Rebbe, the Rebbe emphasizes that the purpose of camp is not limited to the summer months, but that contact with campers should be maintained throughout the year. The Rebbe specifically encourages arranging reunions several times a year, explaining that these gatherings strengthen girls spiritually, help counter outside influences, and ensure that the impact of camp continues in their daily lives. Camp Chomeish has zoom farbrengen-reunions throughout the year, and this topped it off!

In a special moment of added hashgacha pratis, on the very day the Camp Mashpias, Morah Avtzon and Morah Blumi Mishulovin, spoke about how meaningful it would be to raffle a dollar from the Rebbe for girls who kept their hachlata, Mrs. Stock gave a Rebbe dollar for this reunion, that was given to Rabbi Stock A”H. A raffle was held for the girls who had kept their hachlata from the summer hachlata auction, and Chana Stiefel was the lucky winner, with all entries being sent to the Rebbe’s Ohel.

Mushka Losh and Gitale Yechielov won the Shabbos Mevorchim raffles for saying their quota since the summer, camp inspiration continues to shape real-life choices long after the summer season ends.

The girls left uplifted, proud, and deeply reconnected. The Rebbe teaches that the entire purpose of camp is that it should affect the whole year, and this reunion showed just how true this is.

Camp Chomeish was founded under the leadership of Rabbi S. B. Stock A”H and Mrs. Stock, tzu lainhe yahren. Camp continues under the devoted guidance of Mrs. Stock, directed by Mrs. Sheina Oster. Camp Chomeish’s goal is to cultivate an environment of Ahavas Yisroel and fun, infused with Chassidishkeit and Hiskashrus, where the Rebbe is proud and every girl feels seen and valued as a precious neshama.

Although the summer months may be behind them and the next camp season still ahead, the chayus and inspiration of Camp Chomeish remain very much alive. This reunion was a powerful reminder that Camp is not only about a few weeks in the summer, it is a family, a mission, and a way of life!
