Shliach Launches New Tanya Chabura

While his wife, Mrs. Chavie Bruk has been teaching Tanya online for close to a decade, Rabbi Chaim Bruk has only taught it once to a small group in Montana and mostly focused on one-on-one learning.

During the summer of 5785, when the Tanya Hashaleim was published, Rabbi Bruk sent 100 sets to many of his close friends in the Frum world. “When a masterpiece like the Tanya Hashaleim is available to the masses, something that the Rebbe dreamed of, I felt like it was the right time and I sent sets to my Yedidim in Five Towns, Monsey, Lakewood, Flatbush, Los Angeles, Teaneck and elsewhere”, said Rabbi Bruk, “the response was overwhelming. The gratitude they expressed was real, the world desires Chassidus, but then came the demand: you sent us a beautiful Tanya, but will you learn it with us?”, Bruk said.

Rabbi Bruk debated whether to take on a new Shiur, it’s a big responsibility considering all the other Shlichus responsibilities and local Shiurim. Yet the Alter Rebbe writes in the Hakdomas Hamelaket (the introduction to Tanya) that Chassidim should not be “Monei’a Bar”, that we mustn’t “hold back” from teaching the wise counsel of the Alter Rebbe to those seeking to learn, so the decision was made and the Shiur started on Chof Teves.

Now, we are on lesson three, focusing the first three Shiurim on the Shaar Blatt and Hakdoma and next week they will begin with Perek Alef, Chapter one of Tanya Kadisha. The classes are live on Thursdays at 9:00 PM EST
