BREAKING: Chabad Shliach Named As One of the Victims In Bondi Beach Terror Attack

With great sadness we report that Rabbi Eli Schlanger HY’D, a Shliach of the Rebbe in Bondi Beach, Australia, has been named as one of the victims in the unspeakable terror attack at a Chabad Chanukah event in Bondi Beach.

He was 40 years old.

While official details have not yet been released, video footage and preliminary reporting show two shooters, firing shotguns, attacked a Chabad Chanukah event.

The two terrorists were apprehended by police.

Update 4:59am: Chabad Israel’s spokesperson says that several Chabad Shluchim were among the injured.

Rabbi Schlanger is survived by his wife Chayale (nee Ulman) and their children.

He is also survived by his parents, Rabbi Binyomin and Dobra Schlanger (Eretz Yisroel), and siblings; Rabbi Baruch Schlanger (Toronto, Canada), Mrs. Chanie Drizin (Crown Heights), Mrs. Dena Gansburg (London, UK), Mrs. Tzippy Kastel (Sydney, Australia), Rabbi Shmuli Schlanger (Bakersfield, CA), Mrs. Perela Goldhirsch (Melbourne, Australia), Mrs. Sorala Hayes (Miami, FL), and Mrs. Shaina Joseph (Sydney, Australia).
