Jewish Krasnoyarsk Unites for an Inspiring Challah Baking Event

Earlier this week, more than 70 women from the Jewish community of Krasnoyarsk gathered for a moving and empowering evening dedicated to the mitzvah of separating challah. The event was organized by the city’s Chabad emissaries and Chief Rabbi Benyamin Wagner together with Rebbetzin Dina Wagner.

The evening was led by Esther Sprinkova, who explained the deep spiritual significance of this uniquely feminine mitzvah. Rebbetzin Wagner connected the tradition to the weekly Torah portion, emphasizing the powerful role of the Jewish woman in bringing blessing and light into the home.

The event was further uplifted by heartfelt prayers led by Rabbi Wagner, who recited Tehillim on behalf of the community. A highlight of the evening was a stirring performance by guest singer Rima Brilliant from Israel, whose soulful renditions of Jewish songs deeply moved the participants.

A particularly emotional moment came when Rebbetzin Wagner recited the blessing over the dough. Together, the women joined in heartfelt prayer, each silently mentioning those in need of healing and salvation.

The gathering concluded with a festive raffle, where winners received Shabbat candlesticks, kiddush cups, and a Chanukah menorah—adding to the joy and unity of the evening.
