A Chavrusa with the Principal

TTOP launched its second year of electives, offering woodworking, 3D CAD, and piano. Each talmid ranked a first and second choice.

One boy stood out. On his own accord, he added a fourth checkbox: To stay in class and have regular learning. No big announcement, just a quiet decision that showed what matters to him.

When the principal noticed, he sent the father a nachas note. Not wanting to miss the moment, the father set up a chavrusa with his son twice a week. A simple checkbox turned into regular learning at home.

The principal also invited the boy into his office. He highlighted how impressed and proud he was of this talmid and made him an offer: To set up their own weekly chavrusa. The boy asked to learn the Chumash he is learning in class, but to add depth by diving into the mefarshim.

From one choice came two chavrusas, a proud father, and a talmid whose love of learning was noticed and encouraged.

May we continue to build an intentional yeshiva where every boy is seen, every strength is supported, and choosing Limmud haTorah is always celebrated.
