BDE: Mrs. Rochele Fogelman, 98, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Mrs. Rochele Fogelman OBM, a pioneering Chabad Shlucha who with her husband Rabbi Hershel Fogelman, provided for the Jewish community in Worcester, Massachusetts. She passed away on Tuesday, the 7th of Cheshvan, 5786.

She was 98 years old.

Mrs. Rochele Fogelman was sent by the Frierdiker Rebbe to Worchester, MA in 1947 together with her husband Rabbi Herschel Fogelman.

The Fogelmans founded a Jewish day school and Rebbetzin Fogelman organized and taught classes to the women in Worcester.

She is survived by her children: Mrs. Bassie Levin (Worcester, MA), Rabbi Menachem Mendel Fogelman (Worcester, MA), Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Fogelman (Natick, MA), Rabbi Shmuel Binyomin Fogelman (Los Angeles, CA), Mrs. Sheva Liberow (Worcester, MA), and Rabbi Mordechai Fogelman (Crown Heights).

She was predeceased by her husband, Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Fogelman in 2013, and her son, Rabbi Chaim Yosef Fogelman.

The Levaya will take place today, Wednesday, passing by 770 at approximately 1:30pm. Burial will take place at Old Montefiore Cemetery.
