The Merkos Chinuch Office Hosts Roundtable with Principals

This week, the Merkos Chinuch Office hosted a roundtable discussion with Rabbis Mendy Kotlarsky and Zalmy Loewenthal, together with women principals representing schools across the Chabad educational network. The hybrid meeting, held both in person and via Zoom, brought together Menahalos united by a shared commitment to advancing the Rebbe’s vision for Chinuch.

The session opened with remarks from Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, Associate Director of Merkos’s Chinuch Office, who welcomed the participants and reflected on the significance of this milestone year, 50 years since the Rebbe launched Mivtza Chinuch.

Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, General Chairman of Merkos’s Chinuch Office, led the roundtable discussion and listened as the principals shared insights, ideas, and experiences from their schools. The exchange highlighted the collaboration, dedication, and sense of mission that define Chabad educators worldwide.

A key focus of the meeting was the introduction of several new initiatives marking this special year, including the “Foundations of Chinuch: 12 Pesukim Project” connected with Shnas HaChinuch. The initiative aims to help teachers understand and apply the Rebbe’s perspective on Chinuch, and strengthen the integration of core Yiddishkeit values in meaningful and engaging ways.

Chinuch Office Educational Director, Mrs. Shterna Rappaport, reflected on Mivtza Chinuch and the unique Lubavitcher approach to education, noting that it is “about living the Rebbe’s vision in the classroom; Chinuch that shapes identity, not just knowledge.”

Mrs. Sara Blau spoke about the Possuk of Torah, sharing how the Rebbe’s perspective teaches us to see each child as “a neshamah with limitless potential, waiting to be guided and illuminated through Torah,” shared the Chinuch Office Educational Director.

Participants shared that the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another was both inspiring and empowering.

As Mivtza Chinuch marks this milestone year, the Merkos Chinuch Office looks forward to continued partnership with schools and principals to further strengthen and expand the Rebbe’s mission in Chinuch around the world.
