MEF Launches a Year of Inspiring Webinars for Teachers and Parents

The Menachem Education Foundation (MEF) kicks off a yearlong series of dynamic and practical webinars for teachers and parents, designed to strengthen the foundation of Chinuch in every classroom and home. Each online session will feature experienced educators and professionals sharing tools, inspiration, and guidance to help educators and parents support every child’s success. Schools around the world are partnering with MEF to bring these webinars to their staff and parent body, as part of ongoing efforts to engage parents in important Chinuch discussions.

The first webinar for educators this year will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, Ches Cheshvan (Oct. 29), featuring veteran early childhood educator Mrs. Nechama Lapidus on the topic “Mastering Interactive Circle Time.” Over 200 early childhood educators have already signed up  to learn how to make every moment of circle time engaging and meaningful— ensuring that each child feels included and excited to learn. Educators can attend this first webinar of 5786 free of charge, and live attendees will enter a raffle for $180 to Elyon Tableware, who expresses their appreciation for early childhood educators on behalf of the community. Educators who wish to sign up, can still do so here.

Next week, on Yud Daled Cheshvan (November 5), MEF will host a special webinar for parents with Rabbi Dr. Yosef Shagalow, renowned Shliach and therapist, on the timely topic of Screens, Safety and Sanity.” His workshop will address how to model healthy technology use, establish healthy guidelines, notice signs of technology abuse and how to raise healthy children in today’s day and age. Parents and teachers of MEF partners schools can attend the webinar free of charge, and there is a nominal $18 entrance fee for all other parents who wish to attend.

“Parents are our partners, and the most important part of the Chinuch triangle,” shares Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Director of MEF. “Parents today want to keep learning, and it is incredible to see hundreds of parents show up to these webinars. This is the fulfillment of the Rebbe Rashab’s imperative that we must spend half an hour a day thinking about the Chinuch of our children.”

Both the parent and teacher webinars are part of an expanded MEF School Membership being launched this year, which gives access to powerful Chinuch content and programming in one cohesive package. Schools still interested in partnering with MEF for these and other events can reach out to info@mymef.org.

Future parent webinars this year will focus on instilling Yiras Shamayim, parent-child connection, parenting with calm and more, with noted educators, Rabbanim and professionals including Harav Yosef Yeshaya Braun, Dr. Oshra Cohen, Gitty Meyers LCSW, Danit Schusterman M.S ed, CSE, Rivka Caroline and more.

Upcoming teacher webinars will address  managing ADHD in the classroom, Kriah, Creative teaching and using ChatGPT to enhance lesson prep, and will feature educators such as Rabbi DrYosef Shagalow, Rabbi Shmuly Gniwisch, Mushkie Lipsker, Tovah Rottenberg and more.
